Day 3 So this is Perth

Adrienne found some lovely accommodation in a self-contained unit in Duncraig, a seaside suburb north of Perth city. Our first task was to pick up the hire car and head out to Whiteman Park where the Veteran Car Club of Australia was holding day 3 of the annual national tour for single and twin cylinder veteran motor transport. (Veteran is defined as being manufactured before 1 January 1919.)

The tour included 42 vehicles from all over Australia. There were two cars from Queensland, who also attended the VCCA tour in the Burdekin last July.

We find veteran tours wonderful events and today lived up to our expectation. There were some wonderful vehicles. Some noteable participants were: 1906 De Dion Buton closed car, 1906 Phoenix tricycle and 1910 Fuller high wheeler.

We spent the rest of the day with Damien, who moved here three weeks ago to seek his fortune in the mining industry. He presently has part time work in hospitality and is surfing a lot. We enjoyed a lunch at North Beach followed by shopping for essentials at Karrinyup. In the evening we dined at another location on North Beach.

The Toyota Corolla we have hired goes well, and with the most up to date TomTom map installed, moving around is easy.
